WCOL’s Country Jam & Campout Cancelled as Producer SGE Announces Company “Reorganization”

The 92.3 WCOL Country Jam and Campout, August 16-17

The cancellation of WCOL’s Country Jam & Campout featuring Jason Aldean and Old Dominion was announced Friday, July 26.

From the WCOL website, “Due to circumstances beyond our control (and our sponsors), the promoter for Country Jam & Campout 2019 has cancelled the show.
“Front Gate Tickets will be issuing refunds to all fans who purchased a ticket. The refund will be credited to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase. Refunds will be processed on, or before, Friday, August 2nd. Please allow 7-10 days after processing for the refund to be reflected on your statement.
We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to resuming the show in 2020.

The production company for the two-day festival, Synergy Global Entertainment (SGE), has made no public statement about the cancellation, while their website states that it is “under maintenance.”

SGE, formed in 1997 by John Reese, “is reorganizing its operations and assessing strategic options” according to a statement sent to Pollstar. Multiple sources told Pollstar they were saddened to hear the company was struggling, iterating the need for strong independent concert promoters and acknowledging the fragility of solvency as an independent.

Another local event produced by SGE, Rockstar Disrupt Festival, was cancelled “due to logistical reasons” merely three days prior to the July 13 event at the Legend Valley venue in Thornville, OH.

Currently, the Lost Lands Music Festival at Legend Valley scheduled for September 27-29 is still “on” according to the event’s website.
