On this all-new episode, we get a little funky and have a whole lot of fun gearing up for the Summer Jam West Festival.
Patti Von Niessen, Executive Director of the festival, joins us in the studio to give you the history of the event that celebrates the Hilltop area of Columbus. With the festival growing exponentially (this is the fifth year for the event), she relates how agonizing it is becoming to choose the artists, vendors and bands to fill the available spots. You’ll hear why the theme of this year’s event, Hilltop Rising, is so appropriate. The festival takes place in Westgate Park on July 14, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Of course, we have to play music from the five bands that were chosen from the 31 acts that applied for this year’s festival. You’ll hear songs from Zoo Trippin’, Honey And Blue, Mojo Theory, The Devil Doves and Antiøch. To say we’re excited about the event this summer would be an understatement, as Patti and the festival’s board have assembled an outstanding lineup of music to compliment the arts, food and everything else taking place that day.
It’s a jam-packed hour of music, information and more that will surely make you want to attend the festival this July. We were there last year and had a great time. You can read about the 2017 Summer Jam West festival HERE
