The Cat Club Podcast and Sex Kitten Purr-lesque Present Viral Episode 14 with Lizard McGee of Earwig

This week’s episode was literally years in the making. We’ve wanted to have Lizard McGee of alternative rockers Earwig on the show for a long time, and after doing 159 episodes… we finally got him.

We talk with Lizard about his 28-plus year music career, including his band Earwig, his solo releases and side projects. You’ll hear stories about his last tour of the United Kingdom, his own private nine-hole Scottish links-style golf course and the underground renegade golf tournament called the Silver Baby Cup. He also teases us with the tidbit that Earwig, comprised of himself (guitar/vocals), James McGee-Moore (keyboards/vocals), Constantine Hondroulis (bass) and George Hondroulis (drums) are working on music for a new album.

Plus, we also get the details on how he applied as a “golfing rock’n’roll star” and made the cut to appear on ABC television’s extreme putt-putt golf show, Holey Moley. His episode airs on ABC this Thursday (July 30) at 8 p.m. He also relates coming back from taping the show in California just before the COVID-19 lockdown took effect in Ohio, and how it has affected his life.

It’s a fast-paced show full of excellent music, wonderful stories and punctuated with laughter throughout the episode.

Music on this week’s show:

  1. Shiny Morning (Earwig)
  2. Forbidden Planet (Lizard McGee)
  3. Heart Shaped Bruise (The Müligans)
  4. Silverheels (Earwig)
