This week, I managed to get a couple of good friends of mine to generously take some time from their busy touring, recording, and raising two kids schedule to be my guest on the show.
Kelly Ogden and Luis Cabezas of The Dollyrots joined me for a super full hour of stories from the their touring life, recording a new album, raising two kids, and so much more.
They dish on the details of recording their new album Night Owls in Minnesota with their long-time producer John Fields, and how this album is a bit darker than others they have recorded. We talk about raising their children, River and Daisy, and how the kids are thoroughly enjoying seeing the world while on tour with mom & dad.
It seems that River has discovered the joy of yo-yo’s, so I think I’ll have to show him a few old school tricks from my youth when they get to Columbus next March. It’s time to walk the dog, River!
We chat about the family that is the legion of fans, and how many of them have become friends over the years. You might be surprised to learn that Kelly was the Prom Queen in school once upon a time!
